Security operatives, acting on a ‘directive from above’, were said to have laid siege on Gani Faweyinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos STate, the supposed venue of a Pro-AMOTEKUN rally.
The policemen, who numbered about 100, stormed the venue of the protest, about 9:00a.m. dispersing the protesters who were gathering.
An eyewitness, who did not want his name mentioned in prints, said he narrowly escaped being arrested at the park.
The eyewitness, a journalist said, “I smartly escaped arrest at Gani Faweyinmi Freedom Park, Ojota, Lagos.

“I introduced myself as a press man with my Identity Card and they matched me away. The police, led by one Olu Oladunjoye, a Superintendent of Police (SP), gave all officers a matching order to arrest anyone who show up among the organisers.
“Not with my Camera, nowhere to even hide to take good shot with my small phone because the police are spread everywhere.”
The reporters contacted the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Elkana Bala, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, to confirm the report.
He simply said: “I do not have a brief on that ”
It was also learnt that members of the Oodu’a Peoples’ Congress (OPC) were supposed to participate in the protest.
However, the leader of OPC, Iba Aare Gani Adams, denied knowledge or involvement in the said protest.
Gani through his Media Aid, Mr. Kehinde Aderemi said: “ Iba Aare Gani Adams did not participate in the protest and he didn’t join any group of people for the protest.
“We are in house performing our official function. We are not joining any group to protest over Amotekun. Please count us out.”
