Police seal Chinese coy allegedly producing fake AKT bulbs following court order

An Abuja Federal High Court has ordered the sealing of a Lagos based Chinese company producing AKT bulbs following a Motion Exparte filed before it by the Inspector General of Police.

One Mr Ugochukwu Amadi, owner of Solar Energy company had reported Nigeria based Chinese national and his company, , Gaoxi ONG and Chen Xiao Ming, to the police on allegations that the defendant was importing and producing fake AKT bulbs in Nigeria.

He accused the Chinese national of forging the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment permit to import AKT bulbs from China.

The matter was charged to Federal High Court Abuja the court in a motion exparte suit FHC/ABJ/CS/56/2022.

The applicant sought an order of the court ‘directing and authorising it to seal the entire 194, Marwa Close, Ijegun Water Site, Satellite Town, Lagos and Iya Abiye Street, Off Umai Crescent, Opposite Perfect Will Of God Church, Navy Town,” which are the locations of the company.’

It also requested for evacuation of all the products in the warehouse to another secured warehouse.

Granting the request, Justice Taiwo. O. Taiwo ordered the sealing of the warehouses for 90days and evacuation of the products pending the outcome of.investigation by the police.

Following the decision of the court, a team of policemen from Abuja stormed the premises of the company on Wednesday, April 5, and sealed up the warehouses
