Police Kill Professional Footballer in Ogun

Police personnel, suspected to be from the Special Anti- Robbery Squad (SARS), Ogun State Police Command, have alleged killed a professional footballer, Tiyamiyu Kazeem on Saturday, at Orile Imo area along Sagamu – Abeokuta Expressway. 
Kazeem who played for Remo Stars Sports Club, was on his way to Sagamu from Abeokuta after training, when the police operatives accosted him, accusing him of being a fraudster (Yahoo Boy). 
The deceased who was also known as Kaka, was driving with a colleague, Sani Abubakar, when the policemen stopped him, leading to his arrest.  
It was gathered that despite identifying themselves as footballers, the operatives ordered Kazeem and Abubakar into a waiting vehicle and headed for ;an unknown destination.

Kazeem quarried the officers who had labelled them ‘Yahoo Boys’, requesting to know where they were been driven to, an act which forced the policemen to stop the vehicle on the highway, and pushed him out of the vehicle.
An oncoming vehicle on top speed was said to have hit Kazeem. Passersby were quick to come to his aid, as he was rushed to  Fakoya Hospital in Sagamu, where he was confirmed dead by a doctor. 
While lamenting the tragic loss, his football club through her Twitter  handle, @RemoStarsSC, called for investigation into the alleged killing.
The club in her Twit, described the deceased who was the assistant defender as humble and reliable. 
“  We regret to announce the departure of our assistant captain and defender, Tiyamiyu Kazeem (Kaka). The club is doing everything possible to investigate his untimely death. May his soul rest in perfect peace and may the lord help the family to bear the irreparable loss, this is  a great loss to Remo Stars Family and the entire football fraternity, ” part of the many twits by the club reads. 
Commenting on the killing, the Ogun Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the personnel that arrested the deceased was from the Zonal Intervention Squad.
Oyeyemi said police operatives had received information that the deceased was impersonating a military personnel, as he always wore a military cap he used in oppressing people. 
Stating that the officer had been arrested further investigation, the state police spokesperson maintained that the deceased was arrested on the strength of the information. 

“ The policeman saw the boy wearing a military cap and he arrested him. He took him in his vehicle, and were heading to Abeokuta, when the vehicle developed a fault. The policeman was trying to rectify the fault, when the suspect who was not on handcuff jumped out of the vehicle, in a bid to escape. He was knocked down by a hit-and-run vehicle on the expressway, ” the PPRO said.
