The Police on Friday confirmed the arrest of two suspects allegedly responsible for the murder of the 24 year old medical doctor, Stephen Urueye.
Urueye was attacked and murdered by the suspected robbers on Thursday night at Canal Area of Ishaga Road.
He was in company of a female friend, Simbiat Opeyemi, who had come to visit him at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), Idi -Araba at about 9:45pm, when he met his painful end.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Elkana Bala, gave the identities of the suspects as Gbadebo Jimoh and Malik Adeboye.

Bala said the suspects were arrested by men of the command on Friday. “ Some hoodlums armed with knives attacked Dr Stephen Urueye, a Resident Doctor with LUTH and dispossessed him of his valuables such as handsets. They equally stabbed him at his right thigh and back with knife.
“The incident happened around Canal Area of Ishaga Road, Idi Araba while the victim was going somewhere with his female friend Simbiat Opeyemi, a 200 level Student of Department of Health Education, Lagos State University (LASU).
“ The victim was rushed to LUTH, where he eventually died in the early hours of Friday, April 5, 2019. The two suspects, Jimoh and Adeboye were arrested in connection with the case,” he said.
The Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu has also directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police, State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Panti, Yaba, to take over the investigation.
