Police arrest six hoodlums over Ebute-Metta violent attack

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six hoodlums allegedly responsible for the violent attack of innocent Lagosians in the Ebute-Metta area of the state.

It was gathered that the hoodlums unleashed mayhem on residents, on Tuesday, vandalising vehicles along Ondo Street and looting shops in the area.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest of the suspects, in a statement, on Wednesday.

The statement said, “ At about 9.30p.m, on Tuesday, the hoodlums trooped out in numbers and started fomenting troubles in the area, but the police, while responding to distress calls from innocent people, chased and arrested some of them. ”

Adejobi gave the identities of the suspects as Qudus Oke, 22, Abdullahi Ajose, 25, Kayi Ajayi, 33, Michael Ben, 27, Godwin Joseph, 25 and Oluwasegun Akinlade, 29.

He said, “ The Commissioner of Police (CP), Lagos State Police Command, Hakeem Odumosu, has vowed to rid Lagos of hoodlums, hooliganism, gangsterism, cultism and other social vices as all hands are on deck in the command to resist any act capable of jeopardising security networking of the state and causing pains and agonies to Lagosians during the ember months and beyond. ”
