Police in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a 37-year-old man, Bolaji Amusan, who allegedly stole N16,500.
The Defendant, whose address was not provided, is charged with conspiracy and stealing before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court.
The Defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Esther Adesulu, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on July 9 at Aspamda Market in Ojo.

Adesulu alleged that the Defendant conspired with others at large to steal the sum from the complainant, Mr Anwalu Ibrahim.
She told the court the defendant was apprehended after the theft but his accomplices escaped.
According to her, the oftences contravene the provisions of Section 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs. D. S. Odukoya, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
She adjourned the case until August 17 for trial. (NAN)
