Head of Service Plateau State, Mr. Izam Azi, says Governor Simon Lalong has approved promotion of 10,000 deserving civil servants.
Mr. Azi disclosed this, Thursday, in Jos, at the 10th Quadrennial Delegate Conference of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Plateau State chapter.
He maintained that the promotion was with corresponding salaries, he stressed further that names of benefiting workers shall be made public soon.
Mr. Azi tasked workers in the state to be diligent in their duties, while acknowleging that nurses practicing in the state have been up and doing in their profession.
He, however, charged Nurses to be more dedicated to their duties, and to also handle patients with care.
On the expected 30,000 minimum wage, the head of Plateau civil servants said deliberation on the implementation was ongoing, therefore civil servants should await for the outcome.
He also assured that Plateau State would be among the first to implement the new minimum wage, because governor Lalong was a member of the negotiations team.

Earlier, the outgoing chairman, National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), in Plateau State, Raphael Muduutdai, appealed to the government to consider employment of more Nurses.
According to Mr. Muduutdai, Nurses are lacking in most hospitals, hence the need for employment of more manpower.
“I am appealing to government to please employ Nurses at the federal, state and local leveks. The entire health system care delivery system is in dire need of Nurses and if nothing is done, the system is heading to total collapse.”
On the minimum wage ,the outgoing NANNM chairman lamented that the welfare of most Nurses in the state were neglected.
“We are hoping that the mistake of the pass where the ministry for local government was actually represented but did not make presentation on the financial implementation of local government salary will not repeat itself,” he warned.
The Head of service had called for a peaceful elections, he commended the good works of the outgoing NANNM executives.
Some national officials of NANNM are in Jos with representation of state excutives of NLC to witness the delegate elections.
The delegate’s conference is expected to elect new executives of the union this Friday.
