The presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February presidential election, Peter Obi, has visited victims of the accidental bombing of Tudun Biri village in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State to condole with them.
The former Anambra State governor, also demanded a probe of the incident, and urged the Federal Government to provide adequate funding for the military and other security agencies to boost their operations.
Obi harped on the need for the government to support the military to ensure that incidents like accidental bombings do not happen again.
Speaking on Tuesday at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the state capital, he noted that there had been 16 accidental military bombings, which resulted in over 500 fatalities but without any decisive government action to avert a recurrence.
He mooted the establishment of a foundation to assist the victims of the Tudun Biri drone attack, especially those who have been orphaned as a result of the incident.
