PDP ready to wrest power from APC – Buba Galadima

A former national chairman of the Reformed All Progressives Congress, R-APC, Alhaji Buba Galadima, has expressed optimism that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), would wrest power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) with the economy hardship, insecurity and insincerity of the government at the centre plaguing the nation.

Galadima, who is a member of the PDP gubernatorial screening committee for the South-South, noted that, with the focused, detribalized, purposeful leadership and disposition of Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State and other PDP Governors across the country, the party had proved its readiness to return the country to its glorious past.

Special Adviser to the Bayelsa Governor on Media Relations, Mr. Fidelis Soriwei, quoted Alhaji Buba, who stood in for the Chairman of the South-South PDP Gubernatorial Screening Committee, Dr Muraina Ajibola, as saying that, they were in the governor’s country home, Toru Orua in Bayelsa State to condole with him over demise of his mother, Mrs Goldcoast Dickson.

Describing the passing of the Ma Goldcoast Dickson as painful and irreparable, he noted that, she died a fulfilled woman, having brought forth a worthy son and a reputable leader in the person of Governor Dickson.

Galadima said as individuals and as members of the PDP South-South Gubernatorial Screening Committee, they were proud of Dickson’s achievements as governor and his efforts at bringing peace, understanding and unity to the PDP family.

Galadima, an engineer, noted out that Governor Dickson had made tremendous impact on the lives of so many Nigerians, pointing out that his ability to speak out freely, regardless of the situation and personalities involved were qualities greatly admired by PDP faithful across the country.

His words: “He is one person in the party we regard as a reliable pillar. A reliable pillar that we never had any doubt in his ability to speak his mind and make things happen and with the support of people like him in the PDP, we are more than confident.

“And we urge all Nigerians to be more than confident that it is possible that this government must and should be removed come May, 2019.

“Therefore, in this dark hours of sadness of our mother. All well-meaning Nigerians, including our party men felt the pain and that is why everybody is trooping in to commiserate with you over the death of our mother.

In his response, Governor Dickson, expressed gratitude to Galadima for creating time to honour the memory of his mother, who was lost at an early age to cancer.

He commended Galadima for his years of committed and selfless service to the country, stressing that, there had been a long lasting bond of positive relationship and collaboration between the South and the North, which had been mutually beneficial to the both and for which he had played a very significant role.

The governor emphasised the need for leaders of the two regions to work towards strengthening the existing alliance towards ensuring a stable Nigeria for the benefit of the people.
