Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has described the recent protest organised by members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the Supere Court judgment against them as an attempt to bring down the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.
While addressing a mammoth crowd made up of APC members and supporters during their solidarity match, in Owerri, on Monday, Governor Uzodinma questioned the rationale behind organising the protest in all states of the federation and not only in Imo State.
He called on the Federal Government to, as a matter of urgency, unravel those behind the rallies.
He insisted that Nigeria as a country should remain one and United.
The governor recalled that he was a front runner in the 2019 governorship election in Imo State and that the Imo people came out enmasse and voted for him.
He said that he did not go to court based on the irregularities or violence that characterised the election, but has approached the court to demand why INEC refused to add his results at the pulling unit.

He said that seven judges gave their judgment at the Supereme Court in his (Uzodinma’s) favour and it was 7/7 decision.
He urged Imo people to go about their businesses without any fear of favour, insisting that he is already in charge as governor of the state.
According to him, he said he was made governor by God, adding that nobody would say otherwise.
Speaking earlier, APC State deputy chairman, Prince Ugochukwu Nzekwe, said that they were not protesting but on a solidarity rally in appreciation of the Supreme Court’s judgment that declared Sen. Hope Uzodinma as winner of election.
He condemned the recent protest orgernised by PDP members in the state.
