The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has extolled the leadership ingenuity and developmental strides of Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State since assumption of office in 2015, describing him as worthy ambassador of the party.
The Chairperson of the Supervisory Team from the National Secreatriat Abuja Mrs Chinyere Mba, made the commendation on Saturday in Abakaliki after monitoring the conduct of the Local Government Congress held in the State .
She said that the State Governor has embarked on programmes and policies that has impacted positively on the welfare and wellbeing of the citizenry of the State.

” Right from the onset, when you evaluate what Governor Umahi has done interms of infrastructural development since he assumed office, it is commendable, PDP as a party is proud of the Governor, he is a good ambassador of the party
” Umahi is among the Governors of our party we are proud of , especially in the south-east geo-political zone of the country, he has delivered the manifestos of the party in the governance of the state “
Speaking against the backdrop of the conduct of the Local Government Congress across the 13 local Government Councils of the State , Mrs Mba gave kudos to the State Chapter of the Party for the peaceful conduct of the exercise .
” The exercise was peaceful, it led to the election of 18-man Executive Officers of PDP in the 13 local Government Areas to pilot the affairs of the party in the next four years”
“The National Working Committee mandated us to come to Ebonyi State, supervise the exercise, we are here to oversee what they have done, they had a peaceful local government Congress”

Mrs Mba rated the State Chapter of the party high interms of peaceful and orderly conduct of the congress stating ” this is a peculiar state, PDP is one family with a digital Chairman in the person of Barrister Nwaebonyi,
Speaking on the occasion, the State Chairman of PDP Barrister Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, said that the party resolved to adjust downwards the date of the meeting from 28th March to 21st March 2020.
” Because of the outbreak of Corona Virus across the globe, we had to adjust to make sure PDP comply to the directive of the Federal Ministry of Health, we advised all the delegates to stand at least one meter from the next person to avoid close range”
