Several reports say soldiers are going from hostel to hostel arresting students of Imo State University (IMSU) in search of gunmen in Imo State
Social media is awash with stories of the soldiers invading hotels and picking unsuspecting students.
Reports say the soldiers label the students IPOB members after picking them up.
“Please someone, anyone should help they’re picking boys in their hostels around IMSU Owerri. Labeling them IPOB,” one Chinyere posted on Twitter.
The Nigerian Xpress cannot independently verify this but, according to the reports, the students are being labeled members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.
One report says over people have killed in the raid.
Imo State University is currently conducting exams. Students have asked that the exams be postponed due to insecurity.

They’ve started picking up IMSU students and tagging them IPOB members. Oraifite has been on fire since morning, everyone is mostly indoors.

Soldiers are going from hostel to hostel to pick up students in IMSU. Is it a crime to be a student? If it’s not the bandits kidnapping students, it’s the soldiers.
