Over 240 S-East traders witness unveiling of “Maggi Signature’’ brand

Over 240 South-East traders, who retail Nestle Plc products, on Thursday witnessed the unveiling of a new cooking seasoning — “Maggi Signature’’ brand.

Unveiling the latest seasoning brand in Enugu State, Branch Manager of Nestle (South-East), Mr. Bamidele Aina, said that the new brand of seasoning was meant to provide additional satisfaction to users of Maggi.

Aina said that the new brand was a fall-out of clear market survey conducted over time.

He said that Nestle was a company that cherished the two-way communication with its customers; adding that the company and the managers of its ever-green brands value customers and retailers feedback much.

He noted that the new baby — “Maggi Signature’’– was not replacing the original Maggi brand but serves to provide different recipe solution.

“The Maggi Signature is a brand produced from fresh, local and natural ingredients to bring out the best Nigerian flavour, taste and aroma in a every dish,’’ he said.

A Marketing Officer with Nestle, Chiamaka Ezediunor, said that the new brand takes cooking to the next level as “the complete cooking mix’’, while reducing the cost of buying condiments at a given time for any dish.

Ezediunor said that Maggi Signature’s three great flavours — Jollof, Pottages and Miya — caters for the high demand recipes for family and social gathering meals.

She noted that the Maggi Signature had been fortified with natural ingredients as well as iodine to keep Nigerians nourished and healthy.

“The price is highly affordable, just N20 per 8 gramme cube, which is twice the normal Maggi cube. While it is made up of natural ingredients such as fresh onions, tomatoes, bay leaf, chilli pepper, thyme and others,’’ she noted.

A retailer of Nestle products, Mrs. Ngozi Ugwu, said that Nestle had been known for good and quality products, adding, “Little wonder Maggi is still strong as a brand even after 50 years in Nigerian markets’’.

Ugwu, who is a trader in Ogbete Market in Enugu, said that the taste of Maggi Signature Jollof would be the talk of the town when more people use it and see its goodness in jollof rice dishes, which is common in most homes and eateries.

Another, Mr. John Madu, a Nestle products retailer from Abakaliki, said that the prices and volume of Maggi Signature would surely attract most Nigerians to make it their seasoning of choice soon. (NAN)
