People suspected to be herdsmen are said to be going from house to house killing residents of Igbariam, a community in Anambra State.
Video footage posted on social media show men wielding cutlasses roaming the streets of the community and corpses littering the streets.
According to eyewitnesses, two students have been killed by the herdsmen. They say women and children were also killed in the attack.
Igbariam junction in Oyi local government area of the state is close to Awkuzu where the notorious SARS headquarters was sited.
It is clear what caused the killings.
The community hosts the Faculty of Agriculture, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University and Archbishop Patterson Seminary.
