The 16th edition of Research Institutes Games Association of Nigeria (RIGAN Games) will be hosted by Nigeria Building and Road Research Institute in Ota, Ogun State, from 13th to 22nd of December, 2019.
Disclosing this shortly after a meeting of the game’s national council held at the Institute for Agricultural Research, (ABU Zaria), the acting Director General of Nigeria Building and Road Research institute, Prof. Samson Duna, told journalists that his institute is ready to host the best ever RIGAN games.
Dana said world class sporting facilities are being put in place ahead of the games, even as he assured that they would be ready in good time.

“I want to let you know that my institute will change the face and status of RIGAN Games through provision of sporting facilities that is of international standard and all rules and regulations of international standard guiding sports must be applied during the games and efforts are being made to attract corporate bodies to partner with the association for a successful hosting of the Games.”
In his remarks, National President of RIGAN Games Prof. Rabiu Adamu assured that this year’s games would be unique, courtesy of the increased number of events to be competed for.
“We at the association are gradually improving the games. This year’s edition is going to be unique due to the addition of new events like five – aside basketball for both male and female and the admission of two new research institute to the association. It is going to be a full house.”
Meanwhile, the Games’ media consultant, Pastor Faith Udochukwu Emmanuel further disclosed that about 2,500 sports men and women from 30 Research and Development Institutes across the country would be competing in Ota.
