(OPINION) MOBHAD: OPEN LETTER TO WUNMI, QUESTIONS ARISING FOR YOUR ANSWER!

By George Otumu
The death of ILERIOLUWA Promise Aloba, ‘IMOLE’, a fast-rising Afrobeat Nigerian star under the most shrouded controversy a few weeks ago has brought continuous tears into the eyes of Nigerians and lovers of good music around the world.
Far away in China, India, Kenya; Ghana, Zimbabwe, Europe; United Kingdom and the United States: people are shouting “Mobhad, we want justice to prevail’. The emotional, outpouring of love for Aloba readily confirms how much the world is interested in knowing the hidden ‘truth’ behind the demise of ‘IMOLE’ at the age of 27-years.

WUNMI, as the wife of ‘IMOLE’, we know you are mourning your husband presently and deserve some privacy. You will agree that millions of people around the world who cherish your husband songs are also mourning Aloba. And the only time people will relax their mind is when they see that justice is truly seen to have been done.

You will agree, Wunmi, that the Nigerian Police authority has been trying to uncover unknown facts in this matter, with the arrest of your husband’s best friend, Ibrahim (Primeboy) accused by the police to have allegedly engaged in a violent fight with MOHBAD which resulted in injuries that subsequently resulted in his death.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa in a press conference yesterday, he explained to the world that “while Abdulazeez Fashola (Naira Marley) and Samson Balogun Eletu (Sam Larry) denied allegations of criminal liability in the death of MOBHAD and pleaded an alibi to justify their non-being complicit in the incident that occurred between 10-12 September 2023, there are ample electronic and credible witness pieces of evidence linking them to cyberbullying, a threat to life, assault occasioning harm, and conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace against the deceased in his lifetime”.

Not to forget that an auxiliary nurse, Feyisayo Ogedemgbe had been identified as the prime suspect behind the death of ‘IMOLE’ by the police for the quackry role she played to have injected the singer at his residence, after she administered three injections which led to the chain of reactions that eventually caused the death of the musician. We do know as well that one Ayobami Sodiq, a.k.a., ‘Spending’, Mobhad’s friend who invited Feyisayo to inject ‘IMOLE’ is also in police custody.

Rumors, speculation is gaining ground with various innuendos being encapsulated as the ‘truth’ or ‘lies’, depending on the side of the argument you are on. The world is now awaiting you to speak up and clear the air on the following posers, since in the absence of truth, ‘lies’ abound to reign supreme. And if you decide to continuously keep quiet, carriers of rumours may allegedly turn their lies into ‘a complicit into Mobhad’s death’, and when you may later tell your story might be too late then because there is no vacuum in nature.

*Questions: WUNMI, where were you when your husband passed? What led to the argument in the car in which you, Mobhad and Primeboy was seated? Is it true as alleged by Primeboy that you and ‘IMOLE’ had a serious face-off in the car that made Mobhad to be upset? Did you witness Primeboy fight Mobhad which led to body injury as alleged by the Nigerian Police in that same car? Who authorized ‘Spending’ to invite the quack nurse into your home and medically treat MOBHAD? Did you witness Feyisayo give your husband three injections at a row?

Did Mobhad resist or reject the injection at any point in time? What were the words your husband was saying at the point of being given those injections? At what time did you rush ‘IMOLE’ to the hospital to save his life? Is it true that you were there when your husband was rushed to an earlier hospital where he was rejected and taken to another hospital to save his life?

What happened in the leaked audio where MOBHAD queried why you deleted his WhatsApp and phone cloud storage? Why did your husband claim in that same audio in the following words: “You will suffer for everything you are doing to me. I know if I die, no one will ask you, but will not have a peace of mind throughout your lifetime…”?
WUNMI, the world is waiting for your urgent answer to those questions above and the global community is still mourning with you on the death of MOBHAD. Be rest assured that no one can extinguish the ‘LIGHT’ which ‘IMOLE’, your husband truly represents.
