When history favours them, they see it as God’s given blessings and when it is against them, they resort to cheap blackmails. May God Almighty cleanse the land and give us more people with good conscience (Amen)!
As things are, we must commend key stakeholders that are firmy standing by the TURN by TURN agreement as packaged by key leaders that wanted peace for the good people of *Ijede, Imota and Igbogbo Bayeku LCDAs via the IREPODUN ACCORD . We must learn to salute the maturity of our Kings, Political Leaders, stakeholders and the Gallant Delegates from Ijede, Imota and Igbogbo Bayeku. History will never forget them all. These are people with conscience and are of the opinion that the peaceful binding force in these communities have always been achieved via the IREPODUN ACCORD and as such, must be retained. May God Almighty continue to strengthen them (Amen)!
The idea of the IREPODUN ACCORD, if it is going to be jettisoned should be a collective effort of key stakeholders and not just a few people. The whole arrangement started from Ijede via Hon. Adefarasin, followed by the combination of Hon. Sotonwa, Hon.Oshin and Mrs. Akinsola from Igbogbo Bayeku. Imota too has almost completed their term and if there’s going to be any change, it must start from Ijede. The timing to changing the rule is very wrong and shows that it is not about the collective interests of the people but just a few people and their clique. Changing the rules in the course of a match to favour a particular person by a particular group is the reason for the blackmails all around. Calling the 3 LCDA Chairmen and Chairperson names as well as attacking our National leader shows desperation. This is sad and uncalled for.
It is a known fact that when Hon. Adebimpe Akinsola completed the 2nd term of Hon.Gbenga Oshin /Late Hon.Sotonwa at the Assembly, her people wanted her to do another term but was heavily resisted by the incumbent, Hon. Solaja and he even came up with the TURN BY TURN slogan. Why is he and his supporters now against the same TURN BY TURN slogan that brought him into power? What’s the interest of Senator Ogunlewe in all these? The same Senator Ogunlewe, whose video where he was busy calling our National Leader, Asiwaju Tinubu names and whose son too decamped from the PDP lately and presently the Chairman of Kosofe is supporting Hon. Solaja for his personal interests.
Why are some of these leader always thriving on divisive games? Why are they always interested in setting party members against one another? Why is Senator Ogunlewe always against Chief Olorunfunmi Bashorun? Working with the IREPODUN ACCORD , Igbogbo Bayeku will be the next beneficiaries of the arrangement. Why is Senator Ogunlewe always against Igbogbo? It is an established fact that Hon. Oshin (PDP) contested against the Late Hon. Sotonwa (AC) for the Ikorodu Constituency II House of Assembly elections. After the death of Hon. Sotonwa, the idea to re-present Hon.Oshin was vehemently kicked against by Senator Ogunlewe. It took the interventions of Senator Musiliu Obanikoro and Mr. Babatunde Gbadamosi to ensure that he was chosen as the PDP Candidate for the election. Despite all the fundings by President Jonathan, Hon. Oshin lost woefully in Wards C1 and C2 and if not for the results from Wards C3 and C4, the election would have been lost.
Great people of Ijede, Imota and Igbogbo Bayeku, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. We as a people must be careful and ensure that we don’t allow people with personal interests to override our collective interests. The growth of Ikorodu Constituency II should be of paramount concern to everybody and the benefits should be for everybody as well. The idea of the people being dashed ‘cosmetic packages’ while giving self everlasting legacies should be a thing of worry to everybody. Let’s wake up from our slumber and think deeply that why are they setting us against ourselves? Is it for their benefits or ours? Who will lose out eventually? It is you and I cos they have their way of ‘sorting’ them all. Let’s think very deeply and pray that God Almighty heals our land.
