The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued Certificate of Return to Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba HCN, having been finally recognised him as the rightful winner of the rerun National Assembly election in March.
With this development, Nwajiuba replaces Hon. Chike Okafor, who was wrongfully declared winner despite obvious infractions.

Following the ruling of an Abuja High court that ordered INEC to withdraw the earlier certificate earlier issued to Okafor, the electoral umpire complied and issued Nwajiuba his Certificate of Return, thereby affirming his election him as representative of Okigwe South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives for the Ninth National Assembly.
