A middle-aged motorcyclist identified as ‘Omo Aje’ was on Friday crushed to death by a speeding commercial bus with registration number WKY 335 XM while his corpse was subsequently mangled by a Dangote truck after evacuation for burial by colleagues and family.
The sad incident happened at about 5pm at Owode-Ijako Area, along Lagos-Abeokuta expressway, Ogun State, while the deceased was trying to make some money to eke a living before the commencement of the COVID- 19 pandemic lockdown in Ogun State.
It was gathered that the Mitsubishi bus which was moving at a high speed along the expressway lost control while trying to avoid a pothole on the road and crushed the deceased motorcyclist.

The driver of the bus escaped unhurt to avoid been lynched by the deceased colleagues having realized the motorcyclist died on the spot.
The scene became rowdy and tensed as Okada riders at the scene of the accident threatened to burn the commercial bus and any vehicle in sight but the timely arrival of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) operatives led by the Area 4 Commander Adekunle Ariyo Ajibade, Ijako Unit Commander, Victoria Temitope Oseni, Sango Divisional Traffic Officers, led by DTO Mrs Bimpe Sodeinde and Sango Special Anti-Robbery Squad saved the situation.
The most shocking part of the scenario is the second accident the corpse suffered in the hands of a Dangote truck with registration number APP22 XC, which mangled it after it was evacuated inside a tricycle for burial.

It was gathered that after the corpse was put inside a tricycle for burial with the assistance of his family members, when the granite fully loaded truck heading towards Ifo from Sango, lost its brake, hit the tricycle conveying the corpse and ran over it.
The Mitsubishi bus and the truck were later towed away by TRACE Ijako Unit Command, Ogun state.

Some of the motorcyclists who spoke with our correspondent expressed sadness at the rate at which buses, trailers and trucks kill their colleagues like fowl in the area.
They vowed to take the law into their hands by lynching and burning both the drivers and vehicles that kill their members henceforth if the government fails to address the ugly trend.
