Traditional Rulers in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State have appealed to Governor Hope Uzodimma to urgently call the Interim Management Committee Chairman of the council, Prince Marcel Amadioha, to order to avoid generating crises in the autonomous communities in the area.
The call was coming following the unilateral action by the council chairman to appoint Caretaker Committee of Town Union Executives for each of the autonomous communities of Ohaji/Egbema council which is contrary to the mandate of the governor.

The call was contained in a 4-point protest letter to Governor Dist. The monarchs noted with dismay the disrespect displayed by the IMC chairman who, rather than obey and abide by the mandate of the governor to the Council of Traditional Institution to conduct elections of their various autonomous communities Town Union Executives, thwarted the order by appointing the Caretaker Committees of Town Union Executives in the autonomous communities.
The traditional rulers, while vehemently condemning the imposition of Caretaker Executives in the autonomous communities, also declared their total rejection of such action insisting that it would definitely create a lack of cordiality and loyalty between them and the Caretaker Committees.
The royal fathers pointed out that the imposition of Caretaker Committees of Town Unions Executive have actually created among other things disaffections and ill -feelings among the traditional rulers describing it as a height of disrespect to their long standing traditional institution
The monarchs equally observed with dismay that with the imposition of a caretaker committee of Town Union Executives, the chairman has succeeded in dragging various autonomous communities into conflict and dispute with their traditional rulers whom they do not owe allegiance to.
The group, while insisting to go by their resolutions, maintained that nothing would stop them from implementing the mandate of the governor which is for the good of the people of Ohaji/Egbema.
