The present administration in Ogun State has said that the state is currently undergoing a ‘surgical process’ that will ultimately affect key sectors of the economy, thus impacting positively on the livelihood of the people.
Chief of Staff to the state governor, Alhaji Shuaibu Afolabi Salisu, disclosed this while featuring on an Ogun State Television programme, ‘New Dawn’.
The governor’s Chief of Staff noted that for the state to function optimally, it would require a methodical and systematic approach to governance, saying that certain key enablers needed to be put in place which has since been identified.

His words, “If you could recall, Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration put in place the best transition work groups to critically access the position of things in the state, with a view of proffering lasting solution, we discovered that the State needed a total overhaul that I can term “Surgical Operation.
“If you look at education sector for instance, we declared a state of emergency having been confronted with the reality in the sector,” he said.
Alh. Salisu informed that the security sector was experiencing a midas touch like never before, noting that apart from setting up a Security Trust Fund for the provision of vehicles and other gadgets, the state government would also encourage security personnel to perform optimally.
The CoS maintained that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led adminstration has equally shown commitment in the agricultural sector with provision of grants and inputs to young farmers under the Anchor Borrowers program and the Fadama Scheme for 10,000 new farmers in the state.
Responding to a question on monitoring of security officials, Alhaji Salisu assured that there would be proper monitoring mechanism of the activities of all security agencies to ensure checks and balances in their conduct.
He, thereafter, emphasised that the present administration would continue to uphold its mantra of building our future together which is built on sincerity, transparency and all-inclusiveness approach to governance.
