Ogun govt. offers cash assistance to parent of windstorm victim

The Ogun State Government has offered cash assistance to the parent of the lone boy, Master Miracle Oko who lost his life to the windstorm that occurred early this year at Okun-Owa in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state.

The Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Hon. Oluwafemi-Ilori Oduntan who presented the  cash gift to the father of the boy, Mr. Sunday Oko, in her office at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, commiserated with the family, saying the present administration-led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, would continue to provide succor to the people whenever the need arises.

The Commissioner, in a statement signed by the Press Officer, Ogun State Emergency Management Agency (OGUNSEMA), Mr. Segunmaru Adebayo, implored the father of the deceased to use the money judiciously, especially for the  education of other children in the family.

According to her, “the social welfare and wellbeing of the citizenry remained  a  priority to the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, and it would not relent in touching the lives of the people who are in dire need in the nooks and crannies of the state”.

In his remark, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, while condoling with the parent of the boy encouraged the father to use the money to open a new ways for the family, especially investment in purposeful drive to better the lives of siblings the deceased left behind.

On his part, the Director, Ogun State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Olufolarin Ige advised residents  to always abide by safety tips at all times and maintain a clean environment especially, during rainy season.

Mr. Oko in his response, lauded the State government for the kind gesture, promising to utilise the money wisely.
