Ogun govt. donates 10 patrol motorcycles, gadgets to TRACE

To enhance the activities of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Ogun State Security Trust Fund (OGSTF) has allocated 10 Patrol Bikes and communication gadgets to the Corps.

This was in fulfillment of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s promise that TRACE would benefit from Security Trust Fund towards effective road safety and management.

Delivering the 10 Patrol Bikes and Walkie-talkies to TRACE operatives during A-one day training programme titled ‘Efficient Patrol Bike Handling for Effective Service Delivery in Ogun State Traffic Management’, organised for the riders of the Corps, in Abeokuta, the governor said, it becomes imperative to equip the Agency with necessary tools to make them more proactive in the discharge of their duties, thereby reduce road accident to the barest minimum in the state.

The Executive Secretary/CEO who was represented through the Head of Administration of OGSTF, Mr. Olukoga Olatunde Emmanuel appreciated the efforts of TRACE for prompt response to traffic issues in the state, urging them to be more alive to their responsibility of saving life’s and property.

In his submission, the Corps-Commander and Chief Executive Officer of TRACE, Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi, appreciated government gesture, promising that the TRACE Corps would be alive to it’s responsibility of managing the traffic across the State.

According to him, “We educate our officers through training and retraining on what we want them to do while on the field as a commensurate measure to reduce road traffic accident so as to attain the United Nation Decades Standard Action for Road Safety”, he said

Ogunyemi charged them to take care of government’s property and to always be at their duty post, so as complement the government effort in securing the state from road crashes.

Facilitator during the training which included Deputy TRACE Corps- Commander, Commander Olusola Bamidele, Director, Administration and Supplies, Mr. Taiwo Dada, Director, Planning Research and Statistics, Commander Babatunde Ajayi, Area Commander, Area 8, Commander Abdul Olabode, Area Commander, Area 9, Commander Teslim Adedeji, Public Education Officer, Commander Oluwatoyin Fatoberu and Provost Marshal, Commander Idowu Ajala all took turn to educate the officers on safety consciousness, handling walkie-talkies and other equipment effectively, urging the officers to reciprocate government’s gesture by making judiciously use of the gadget and adhere to rules governing their operations.

The patrol bike were therefore distributed to Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ogere, Ikenne, Ijebu-Ode, Ota, Ifo, Mowe-Ibafo, Rescue Squad as well as the headquarter.
