Obi Cubana still in detention, passport confiscated

Contrary to news that popular businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, has been released by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, The Nigerian Xpress reports that he is still being held by the anti-graft agency at its Jabi, Abuja, headquarters
His travel documents were reportedly seized to prevent him from travelling out of the country while undergoing investigation.
According to a source: “Obi Cubana has not been released, as he is still being being grilled by investigators.
“He will only be released when he has provided satisfactory answers to all questions in connection to his involvement in certain deals. Meanwhile, his travel document has been temporarily confiscated until investigations are concluded.”
Spokesman of the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed that Cubana is still in custody, adding, however, that he was not aware of the confiscation of the socialite’s passport.
