Obey Govt. directives on coronavirus, Commissioner urges owners, operators of Hotels and Tourism-related establishments

Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm. (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, has called on all owners and operators of hotels and tourism-related establishments to comply with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s directive that gatherings of more than 25 persons at a time must not be entertained.
She stated that it is all part of efforts to stop the spread of the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the state. Akinbile-Yussuf urged hoteliers to ensure the observance of social distancing within their facilities, emphasising that there must not be any gathering of more than 25 persons in any hotel.
According to her, some hotels have been sealed off for ignoring the instruction, warning that the State will continue to clamp down on erring organisations.

The Commissioner while emphasising that the safety of residents motivated the government’s directive on COVID-19, enjoined stakeholders in the hospitality industry to support the initiatives introduced to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
“If anyone flouts this order, the government will not hesitate to seal off such premises, which will not be opened until after the end of the pandemic and payment of appropriate fines,” she warned.
She implored all hotels, event centres, restaurants and bars, lounges, spas, amusement parks and entertainment houses to comply with the directive.
