Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare ll, has announced the arrival of a bouncing baby boy delivered by Her Royal Highness, Queen Iyayota.
Breaking the news to newsmen in a press conference on behalf of the Benin Traditional Council, the Iyase of Benin Kingdom, Chief Sam Igbe, said the infant prince and her mother were in excellent health and good spirit.
”It is our prayers that the prince will grow in good health, excellence and grace and that he shall be blessed immeasurably by the Almighty God and the great Royal Ancestors with the wisdom, kindness and generosity , knowledge and courage of his illustrious father, Oba Ewuare ll.
“We congratulate our amiable Queen, Her Royal Highness Queen Iyatoya, for a safe delivery and pray that this happy ocasion shall birth more blessings for her, for the palace and for the entire Benin Kingdom.”
In his congratulatory message, the Enogie of Evbhobanosa, His Royal Highness, Prof. Greg Akenzua said, “We pray for good health , prosperity to the new born prince. It is a good gift and good omen to the entire kingdom. This is the first baby born since the Oba ascended the throne.”
