Nnamdi Kanu preaches peace as Asari Dokubo doubts release from DSS custody

Anthony Iwuoma

A former militant leader in the Niger Delta, Asari Dokubo, has expressed doubts that the Department of State Services (DSS) would ever release the  leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from its custody.

This is coming despite Kanu’s reported counsel to his supporters to prepare for peace.

Dokubo said Kanu, who is facing treasonable felony charges in the courts, may never be released because of the atrocities he allegedly committed, which cannot be reversed.

The leader of the defunct Niger Delta Peoples Salvation Force,  made this aversion in  a recent video on his Facebook wall.

“I don’t think God will help Nnamdi Kanu to come out from that dungeon (referring to DSS). He will not come out, for the evil he has committed cannot be corrected,” the ex-militant leader said in the video.

“Stop blaming others for what you have done.

“Your DOS has admitted, your autopilot has admitted, Simon Ekpa has admitted, they’ve all admitted. Stop blaming others. That is the truth. The cannibals at Orsumoghu, Anambra State; and Orsuihiteukwa in Orlu, Imo State, the kidnappers, the armed robbers, the rapists, all of them, they are associated with IPOB and ESN. This is the truth, confirmed by the mouth of your own leadership.”

Meanwhile, Kanu has urged his supporters to take advantage of the ongoing peace efforts.

According to  Kanu’s  lead counsel, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Kanu wants his supporters to key into the ongoing moves for peaceful resolution of the trouble.

Ejiofor disclosed the latest stance of kanu  after paying him a visit in the DSS custody.

“Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu deeply appeals to UmuChineke to avail themselves of the peace initiative presently ongoing and not to be distracted anymore. He further implored all UMUCHINEKE to keep their eyes on the ball because enemies are struggling in vain to entrench disharmony,” Ejiofor said.

“Onyendu reiterates that the ongoing interventions towards peaceful coexistence must be respected, encouraged and abided by. His call for unity among the entire UmuChineke at all levels, who believe in his peaceful message cannot be overemphasised.”
