He noted that the Institute was set in the new year to revitalize and sanitize the profession from quackery by collaborating with relevant security agencies in this regard to rid the Profession of criminally minded persons parading themselves as Practitioners who had yet to be certified by the Institute.
While emphasising that the body was also set to go after organisations who engage quacks to carry out their public relations/ information functions, Prince Adeyemi-Adejolu said the state chapters of NIPR had been mandated to take a legal action against them in no too distant time.
He charged the public to beware of charlatans parading themselves as PR practitioners in the state who may be involved in dubious deals or ask for their membership certificate which includes their practising numbers.
The meeting, which also described the death of a former President of the Institute, Chief Alex Akinyele, as a big loss to the Profession, condoled with the immediate family and NIPR family nationwide.
The Ekiti NIPR chapter charged members to be more committed in the new year to meet objectives set and abide by the code of ethics of the profession in all ramifications.
The Chapter also commended the South West Governors for the establishment of the Western Nigeria Security Outfit code named Amotekun, noting that the move would help government security agencies at reducing the level of crimes towards ensuring the safety of lives and property of the citizens living in the south west states of Nigeria
