“We are taking a road walk today for Economic Transformation. We reason that our nation is in dire need of transformation in so many sectors but today we are focusing on our economic transformation.
“NIPR has taken up the task of ensuring that we rebuild a better reputation for Nigeria. We are a country with potentials. We have men, we have materials, we have skills. All over the world, Nigerians are shining in their individual areas of calling. What we need now is to come together as a people and show leadership and character as a nation.
“We want to be a nation of integrity, we want to be a nation where people do things the right way, we want to be a nation where people don’t cut corners. And therefore we find that a lot of the challenges we have in this country has to do with relationship management and NIPR is asking Nigeria to take the bold step to do the right thing.”
The NIPR Chairman decried quackery in public relations practise and called on organisations to always engage only certified public relations practitioners.
“So, we call you all today, join NIPR to build a nation where there is integrity, where there is respect for people, where the relationships that matter with our communities, with our state government, in the military, among politicians, we just need to have a good and the right relationship,” he added.
Highpoint of the celebration was a tree planting at the Isaac Boro Park, Port Harcourt.
