Former governor of Bayelsa and incumbent Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson, has pulled off a landslide victory to be re-elected Senator.
Dickson who contested on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was, Monday, declared winner of the Bayelsa West Senatorial District election by the Returning Officer, Prof. Akpan Enmanuel.
The former two-term Governor of Bayelsa State, fondly called Countryman and OFURUMAPEPE (The Great White Shark that dominates its environment) polled 27,000 votes to defeat Wilson Dauyegha of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who got 8,375 votes.
It must however be observed that Dickson was projected to win the ballot resoundingly, he made all the campaign rounds to the Senatorial zone, refusing to take the people’s love and support for granted.
