The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, as the winner of the February 25 Presidential election in Imo State.
The INEC said that Mr. Obi won with 352,904 votes, while candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaqju Bola Ahmed Tinubu polled 66, 171 votes.

Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) polled 30,044 and 1,536 votes, respectively.
However, according to Charles Esimone, the Returning Officer for Imo State, the results of the Njaba Local Government Area were not collated due to violence, thereby raising credibility issues about of the entire election in Imo State.
