The Labour Party (LP) has alleged that election results are being manipulated by the opposition in Abia and Enugu states.
Threatening to mobilise a nationwide protest in a statement signed by the party’s national chairman, Julius Abure, the Party claimed that supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Abia State, have held some Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) staff hostage at Obingwa Council.
The Party also accused the PDP in Enugu State of tampering with results of the governorship election.

The statement read in part, “The Labour Party had thoroughly reviewed all infractions and we have vowed to never again allow the use of foul means to usurp power as it was done in the past and merely ask us to go to court.
“If this is not addressed, we will be left with no choice other than to mobilise ‘Obidients’ all over the country to take over the streets across the length and breadth of the country.”
