A community leader, at Diamond Sunshine Community Development Area (CDA) at Ota, Ogun State, Alhaji Abdur-Razaq Onaolapo Animashaun has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for its clean conduct of the governorship and House of Assembly Elections in Ogun State, admitting that, “the poll was clean, peaceful and heart-warming.”
Onaolapo Animashaun who made the remarks when speaking with our reporter at his polling unit 052, Diamond Sunshine CDA, Ota, Ogun State after casting his ballot around 9.a.m., said, the INEC gadget worked perfectly and there was no wasting of time for any voter saying, the outing was commendable and impressive.”
On the turnout of voters, the cleric cum community leader though admitted that, the outing was not as overwhelming as it was on the first day of the election three weeks ago, it was not totally bad, enthusing that, at the end of the day, those who waere not around in the morning may have the chance of coming around later.
However, Animashaun praised the residents who made it to the polling booth for their orderly conduct and patriotic disposition just as he lauded the security personnel present for the exhibition of high level of professionalism, adding that, “the residents’ confidence in the INEC and its officials has soared.”
Recall that the cleric, who is the founder, Imam and Chief Misioner, (home and abroad of Zawiyatul-Sofwatur-Rahmatil-Islamiyyat (ZASRAM) in Ota, Ogun State, during his Friday Khutbah (Sermon), enjoined the electorate to troop out en masse to cast their vote harping on peaceful conduct in line with the tenet of Islam which he described as the religion of peace.
