Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Mr. Peter Obi, has expressed satisfaction with the accreditation process in his ward and hoped it was the same situation all over the country.
Speaking in an interview with Arise Television, Mr. Obi said: “The accreditation was fairly ok. I came and queued up like every other voter. I think I was like twenty-something. Within a short time, they went through the BVAS process and I voted.
“For me, it is okay, but I cannot use it to assess what is happening all over the country until I hear reports of other people’s experiences. My own situation was ok; the line was moving on seamlessly.”
On the issue of insecurity in the South-east, which could influence voters not to come out, Obi said the security situation in the South-east is not really as portrayed.
Obi continued, “I can tell you that from where I stand, the people’s response was very, very okay.
“People told me that I would not be able to campaign in the South-east but at the end of it, I made sure I campaigned in the open market; I campaigned everywhere. I move around freely and in my place in Agulu, Anambra State, we live like a common family.

“I campaigned all over the country. I campaigned all over the South-east. It is the same security situation everywhere. That of the South East is not exceptional except for some people, making statements and showing videos of what happened in the past, using them to compare what is happening today.
“I have been in Anambra for a few days now, moving around and I have not had any reason to say it’s very insecure.”
The LP presidential flagbearer also commended INEC based on its fair performance in his Ward,“They have done a good job if that’s what is happening all over the country. I am yet to get reports from other areas and I urge INEC to go ahead and ensure free, fair, and credible elections to the end.”
