A Non-Governmental Organisation, Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women has give out non-refundable grant of N100,000 each to 32 creative young girls and women entrepreneurs to help them build visible and sustainable businesses that would impact the economy.
The Principal/CEO of Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women, Mrs. Chinyere Chukwudi Zimako, disclosed this at the ceremony, held recently, in Asaba, Delta State capital.
Mrs. Zimako said that with the help of partners and sponsors of the group, “we hope to achieve our target to access and fund over one million women with small scale business in Africa by 2030. It’s a tall order, but we are committed to it and the journey has already started.
“In October 2023, we held our first edition of the program and empowered 10 women with non refundable grant of N100,000 each.

“I’m happy to announce that today, with the support of friends and partners organisation, we’ll be empowering 32 women with N100,000 each to help growths their businesses.
“It is said that if you empower a woman, you empower a nation. By partnering with us, you are leading the charge in empowering our great nation and posterity will never forget.
“Let me use this opportunity to encourage every young woman here to keep pressing forward. Success is not gender-dependent. Anyone, man or woman, that puts in the work will surely get the reward of success”.
Some of the beneficiary who speak to The Nigerian Xpress, appreciated the Foundation for coming to their aid in time of need.

Mrs. Marvelous Chiaunoka, a farmer held form Anambra State said, “Firstly I thought it was a joke, but when given N100,000 last year, I was surprised and said to myself ‘can some one give you N100,000 and said don’t pay back in this hard economy’? But to be candid, that has really change my life. Today, I am proud to say that I have four persons working at my farm which I pay monthly.
When asked why was she nominated again for the second edition, she said, “may be hard work because after collecting the money last year, I used it to expend my farm. Ttoday my product (vegetables) goes to the market twice a week. All thanks to Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women.
Ms Igbonugo Christian, a bag marker, was one of the beneficiaries too who was full of appreciation to the group.
According to Christian, “In March 2023 I was robbed and some of machine was taken away while looking for money to replace them. A friend of mine told me about Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation and apply and I was nominated for the grant”.
