NGO celebrates Easter urging love, unity

An all-women Non-governmental Organisation, Standup for Women Society (SWS), has urged Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of love and unity as they celebrate this year’s Easter in line with the teaching of the season.
The International President of the NGO, Barrister Deborah Abosede Ijadele-Adetona in a message in Lagos Sunday joined the Christian faithful across the globe to celebrate Easter, which marks the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Ijadele-Adetona’s statement through her NGO’ Public Relations Officer, Billie Nwogu urged Christians to use the occasion to pray for the nation and the transition moment that will have the new President-elect, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu sworn in, on May 29, 2023, in less than two months.
Ijadele-Adetona further advised Nigerians to embrace peace and unity which, according to her, are part of the ingredients to build a greater and better society that we will continue to be proud of at all times.
She said the season is not only to celebrate but to touch lives positively, giving meaning to those who have lost hope of living due to their untold challenges.
“I charge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of his resurrection to imbibe Godly values of righteousness, peace and justice. Treat one another with love, build a united Nigeria, ignore the call for a divided nation because togetherness we can win over any intruders who might want to cause distractions among us.
“So, let us work in love, unity and faith as a means of overcoming current challenges and building a prosperous nation.
“We in the Standup for Women Society and as mothers, we will continue to pray for the progress of our children and the nation at large,” Barr. Ijadele-Adetona added.
