The Alor community in Anambra State has kicked against the reinstatement of their traditional ruler, Igwe Anthony Okonkwo, by Governor Willie Obiano of the state.
Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, hails from the community, which insists that Okonkwo has ceased to be their monarch, having elected a new ruler, Igwe Ebelechukwu Chukwumesili.
The Anambra State Government had suspended 12 monarchs, including Okonkwo, for their unauthorised visit to President Muhammadu Buhari, in Abuja.
However, the state government lifted the suspension of the monarchs last week, an action Alor people have rejected.
