New twist in love gone sour as Police invite lover of mother of 3

Daniel Anokwuru

The police in Lagos have invited Mr. Emeka Ohanechesi for questioning over the whereabouts of Favour, the estranged wife of Mr. Paul Ihechukwu and their three children.

The Nigerian Xpress had reported how the mother of three dumped her marriage of over 11 years, for Emeka, her church member lover. She had told her husband to go and make money buy a car, build a house like his mates and then marry another woman that is more beautiful than her, foreclosing reconciliation.

Paul had told the reporter that trouble started between them in 2008, shortly after their wedding, when he saw some illicit chats of his wife and the lover, Emeka Ohaechesi. He said he confronted his wife and she apologised that the chats meant nothing. She maintained that Emeka was one of the workers in the Pentecostal church where they worship. He said after the apology, they continued their life. But to his surprise, he again discovered some nude pictures of his wife, which she had sent to Emeka, including where they had booked for a hotel. Upon the discovery, he said he confronted his wife again and also related to his in-laws. His wife, according to him, later confessed in tears that she actually slept with the lover in a hotel and asked for forgiveness again after.

After this last discovery, Paul stressed that he contacted Emeka’s wife, who also worships in the same church through her cell phone number, which he said he saw in the church card that his wife normally comes back with. According to him, Emeka’s wife supported her husband, warning him that he would be arrested if anything happens to her husband. To make their threat real, he said his wife availed her lover all his details including his residential address and the particular room he occupies, asking him to either jail or kill him, so that they can continue their affair undisturbed. To worsen his plight, he said a letter was sent to him from Emeka’s lawyer, demanding that he should debunk all his allegations in three national daily newspapers and also tender an apology letter within 14 days of receiving the letter.

Mr. Ohanechesi, when contacted through his cell phone, had denied the allegations. However, when confronted with the evidence Paul said he had on the matter, he told the reporter that he does not want any problem with Favour’s husband. According to him, his lawyer that wrote the petition went too far, adding that he did not see it before the lawyer sent it to Mr. Paul. He said he only told the lawyer to put fear into Mr. Paul, so that if he is planning anything against him, he would stop it.

In her own reaction, Mrs. Ihechukwu blamed her husband’s suspicious nature for her going into romance with her church member.

A police source at Okokomaiko Police Station, told the reporter that Mr. Paul lodged a complaint of threat to life, and forceful taking of his children and wife to unknown destination by Emeka. Our source said the matter has been reported to the Divisional Police Officer and is currently being investigated.
