The new Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Shehu Mohammed, on Wednesday, ordered the redeployment of five senior officers of the corps.
The move, it was said, was said to be part of efforts to enhance the corps’ performance and streamline operations.
Those redeployed include three Assistant Corps Marshals, one Corps Commander, and one Deputy Corps Commander.

All officers are expected to assume their new roles immediately.
Assistant Corps Marshal Jonas Agwu, previously serving as the Public Education Officer, has been appointed to lead the Administration and Human Resources Department at the FRSC headquarters in Abuja.
Assistant Corps Marshal Chidi Nkwonta, who was the Commandant of the FRSC Command and Staff College in Udi, Enugu State, will now serve as the Principal Staff Officer to the Corps Marshal.
Additionally, Assistant Corps Marshal Hafeez Muhammed has been redeployed as the Zonal Commanding Officer for Zone 7.

Furthermore, Corps Commander Olusegun Ogungbemide was moved from his role in Command Administration and Strategy in the Operations Department at the national headquarters to become the new Corps Public Education Officer.
Deputy Corps Commander Wasiu Adenekan is now appointed as the Technical Adviser to the Corps Marshal and head of the Corps Information Technology Office.
A statement issued by the new Corps Public Education Officer, Ogungbemide, noted that the development was in line with the Corps Marshal’s “policy thrust targeted at strategic repositioning of the Corps for optimal performance and ease of doing business.”
He quoted Mohammed as urging the redeployed officers to demonstrate unwavering commitment and dedication to their duties and “to share in the FRSC vision of making Nigerian roads safer for all motorists.”
On May 23, 2024, President Bola Tinubu appointed Mohammed as the new Corps Marshal of the FRSC.
Mohammed, then an Assistant Corps Marshal, replaced Dauda Biu, who was appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2022.
