Newly-appointed Acting Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Mr. Wale Bashir Adeniyi, has asked the nation’s Maritime press to assist him in meeting the target of optimal revenue collection for the country, assuring that his administration would run an open- door-policy.
At a dinner with select members of the maritime media at the Radisson Blue Hotel , Government Reservation Area(GRA), Ikeja in Lagos, on Sunday night, Adeniyi said he would be focused and welcome ideas that would assist in enhancing the operations of the customs, and make the Service to be more effective and efficient.
He said that having worked with many past CGs of Customs, he has garnered a lot of experience which he would utilize to make the operations of Customs better.
He assured that as critical stakeholders in the economy, his administration would interface and work in synergize with members of the media to achieve set goals.
The CG said he would welcome quality suggestions , adding that any failure in customs operations at any point in time during his administration, would be a collective failure of all the stakeholders including the press.
As partners in progress with the Customs , Adeniyi appealed to the media to come up with constructive advice and report professionally, so that the Customs can do better in its operations.

The Ag CG had earlier promised to improve professionalism , welfare and human capacity development in the Service , while assuring of a pragmatic move towards decongestion of Nigerian ports to enhance revenue generation, facilitation of legitimate trade and suppression of smuggling.
The new CG has distinguished himself as a professional in the Customs , having worked as Customs image maker for almost two decades , until January 2017, when he was redeployed to the Apapa Area Command, and promoted to a full comptroller.
He was later promoted ACG before his latest appointment as Ag Comptroller General of Customs by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He was also conferred with the National ,Honour of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).
