NDLEA uncovers shrine hiding cannabis, loud at Lagos beach

 

 

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, has uncovered and busted a shrine in Lagos used to hide illegal drugs.

Operatives of the agency discovered the shrine at Alfa Beach in the Ajah area of the state and arrested two suspects, Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun.

According to the NDLEA spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, in a statement on Sunday, bags of Ghanaian Loud and cannabis were discovered at the shrine.

“NDLEA operatives in Lagos on Friday 25th October raided the Igbo – Igunuko shrine, located at the Alfa Beach, Ajah, where jumbo bags of Ghanaian Loud, a strain of cannabis, weighing 2,760kg were recovered and two suspects: Gbenga Abiodun and Sunday Abiodun arrested,” the statement read.

It added: “Another suspect, Ademola Oyelakin was also arrested the same day with 770kg of the same psychoactive substance along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.”

Babafemi also revealed that apart from Lagos, another suspect, Fadan Bindom, 39, was arrested in Plateau State on Wednesday October 23 at Pilgani village.

He was found with 65.85kg cannabis and 18 grams of tramadol adding that a 42-year old man, Sunday Agbata, 42, was also arrested at Pavwei – Rayfield in Jos South LGA with 5,830 tablets and ampoules of bromazepam, diazepam and pentazocine injection on the same day.
