The Nasarawa State University has hinted the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) of the approval granted to the institution to run new programmes.
The information was conveyed when a three-man delegation from the university visited JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, in his office, in Abuja, recently.
The delegation, which was led by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olayemi Akinwumi, told the JAMB Registrar that the university had secured necessary approvals to commence programmes in Medicine and Engineering.
Prof. Akinwumi said the approval would enable candidates who are desirous of studying Medicine and Engineering to pursue their dream courses in the institution.
The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, was created in 2001 to encourage the advancement of learning in the state and its environs.

In his brief remarks, the registrar thanked the delegation for the visit. He stated that the approval was a good development capable of expanding access to students even as he charged the university not to compromise on standards as the school kick starts the programmes.
In the delegation were the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Ibrahim Haruna and the Registrar, Ms Ramatu Ahmed.
