Nasarawa CPS seeks collaboration with media houses, journalists

Newly-appointed Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Nasarawa State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Addra, has sought futher collaboration with media organisations and working journalists in the state.

Addra made this known when he undertook familiarisation visits to the General Manager, Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, State Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, as well as the Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ, on Monday.

 Speaking at the N.B.S, the CPS asked for guidance and for their full support in propagating the activities of his principal.

While lauding the contributions of the station in educating, informing and entertaining the people of the state on the activities of the present administration,  Addra singled out the General Manager for commendation and exemplary leadership.

The CPS described his visit to the NBS as home coming, stressing that his office would build on the already existing cordial relationship to further project the activities of his principal.

At the Correspondents’ Chapel, Addra said he was ready to work together with working journalists in the state,  even as he promised to leave his doors open for consultations.

He urged journalists in the state to shun sensationalism and to abide by the ethics of the profession.

Similarly, while being hosted at the secretariat of the NUJ, the CPS sought the support and cooperation of all working journalists in the state, to enable him deliver on his mandate.

In separate responses,  the G.M of N.B.S, Barrister Yusuf Musa, State Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Salisu Alkali and Correspondents’ Chapel Chairman, Mr. Isaac Ukpoju, pledged to support and work with the new CPS to promote the activities of the Nasarawa State Government led by Governor Abdullahi Sule.

They all proffered practical advice on how the CPS can carry along every media house and practising journalists in the state.
