The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) had commended the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) for donating a Digital Divide Bridge Centre (DDBC) to the agency to accelerate digital knowledge among public institutions.
The DDBC, which was recently donated to the agency, was targeted at providing space for public institutions to be digitally literate.
Assistant Director, Technical Services of NAN, Mr. Christian Okoro, said that the centre would enhance digital learning in the public service space.
According to him, it is a good thing that the centre was donated to NAN which will go a long way in deepening digital literacy.

“The digital bridge centre will be a place where we can train people whenever we have trainings and NITDA can use the facility if they need it.
“It is a good thing that the centre came to NAN because it will improve the process of learning anytime we have training,” Okoro said.
He, however, said that NAN merited the centre by making space available for the project.
NITDA donated 18 computer systems, 20 tables and chairs, internet facility, solar power, stand-by generator, among other facilities for the centre.
NITDA also donated similar centres to other institutions across the country to enhance the ability of communities to access information, manage local level information and disseminate information to external communities.
The centres are to also create enabling environment that will nurture innovation and entrepreneurship, develop training and professional programmes to promote self-employment and entrepreneurship. (NAN)
