NAFDAC approves Moderna, Sputnik COVID-19 vaccines for use

The National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has approved Moderna and Sputnik COVID-19 vaccines for use in Nigeria.

It was gathered that the approval is only for emergency use.

However, Sputnik vaccine is yet to be approved by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

But NAFADAC says that an independent investigation by the agency shows that the benefits outweigh risks.
