Michelle, Barack Obama celebrate 27 years of marriage

Barack Obama, former US president, and Michelle Obama, his wife, have shared sweet tributes to each other to celebrate their 27 years of marriage.

The couple took to their social media pages on Thursday to exchange glowing and heartfelt messages directed at each other, including never-seen-before photos.

“Like the Beatles said: It’s getting better all the time. Thanks, babe, for 27 amazing years!” he wrote.

The former first lady wasted no time to return the gesture with a heartfelt response.

The 55-year-old mother of two showered her husband with praises, thanking him for fulfilling the promises he made to her 27 years ago.

“27 years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure. I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter of becoming empty nesters and discovering what’s next — while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack,” she wrote.

The posts have so far received a combined total of 2.7 million likes and close to 300,000 retweets as of the time this report was filled.

The couple got married on October 3, 1992 in Chicago. The union has been blessed with two beautiful children.

In August, the former US president shared a total of 44 songs of divergent genres from around the world which he said were what he and Michelle listened to through the summer.

‘Iron Man’, a single by Rema, Mavin Record’s singer, made the playlist.
