A middle-aged businessman, was on Wednesday remanded by
Ikeja magistrates’ court, Lagos for allegedly raping his three underage daughters.
The suspect, Emeka Orisakwe, 43, resides at Maza Maza, Amuwo-Odofin area of the state.
Orisakwe reportedly sexually assaulted his three daughters, aged four, six, and eight.
The magistrate, Ejiro Kubeinje, did not take the plea of the accused but ordered him remanded in Kirikiri prison.
While adjourning the case to November 2, she also directed the police to send the case file to the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for advice.
According to the prosecution counsel, Bisi Ogunleye, the suspect allegedly committed the offence between May and July, adding that medical reports confirmed that the girls had been defiled.
If convicted, Orisakwe could spend the rest of his life in prison in accordance to the provisions of Section 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015, which prescribes life imprisonment for sexual penetration through the vagina.
