The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has nabbed a man for allegedly procuring abortion drug for a 13-year-old pregnant child, leading to her death.
The suspect, one Sunday Sampson, allegedly impregnated the minor, who died after he secretly procured an abortion for her.
Consequently, Sampson was arrested by the police in Nsit Ubium Division, a statement by the command’s spokesperson, Odiko Macdon disclosed.

“One Sunday George Sampson was arrested by the Nsit Ubium Division of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command. The suspect impregnated a 13-year-old girl child and secretly procured an abortion for her and she died in the process,” the statement read.
According to Macdon, the matter has been referred to the homicide section for further investigations.
Meanwhile, said he added that the state Police Commissioner has advised parents to monitor their children in order to avert any form of sexual molestation.
