Men of the Ajao Police Division, Lagos State Police Command, have arrested Isaac Ubogu, 50, for allegedly defiling a three-year-old girl (name withheld).
Ubogu, a friend to the parent of the toddler had allegedly penetrated her at No. 31 Awoniyi Elemo Street of Ajao Estate, last Friday.
The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Elkana Bala, disclosed the criminal act in a press statement issued on Sunday. He said, “On August 30, 20,19 at 10:00 a.m. the Ajao Estate Police Station received a complaint that Ubogu, of No. 31 Awoniyi Elemo Street Ajao Estate, defiled a three-year-old girl.
“The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit and he confessed to the commission of the crime. The survivor was taken to hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination. The suspect will be charged to court.”
Similarly, 34-year-old Taiwo Sheuases has been arrested for defiling a 15-year-old girl at Market Square area of Bariga.
According to Bala, the suspect has confessed to the crime. He said, “ On August 27, 20,19 at 7:20 p.m. Bariga Police Station received a complaint that Sheuases, 34, defiled a teenage girl of about 15 years old in Bariga Market square.
“The suspect was arrested by detectives from the Family Support Unit and he confessed to the commission of the crime. The victim was taken to hospital for medical treatment and forensic examination. The suspect will be charged to court soon. ”
In another development, Bala said a 28-year-old man is also in the police dragnet for defiling a 15-year-old girl at No. 9 Adetoke Street, Bariga.
The suspect had forcefully had unlawful sexual intercourse with the survivor (name withheld).
“The suspect will be charged to court, “Bala said.
