A 25-year-old man, Seyi Ajiboye, has been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 14-year-old down syndrome girl (name withheld).
The victim was reportedly sexually abused by Ajiboye while she was returning from a church service at Oluwalogbon Street, Abule Ijoko.
She was accosted by the suspect who took her to his room, forcefully removed her underwear and had carnal knowledge of her.
Upon informing her parents of the act, the victim’s parents reportedly went to the Agbado Police Divisional headquarters, where they lodged a complaint on March 8, 2019.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun State, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, “The victim told the Police that the suspect increased the volume of his musical tape to the maximum, when he took her to his room.
“Therefore, making it impossible for people around to hear her screaming.
“On the strength of the report, the DPO Agbado Division, CSP Olatunji Omonijo led his detectives to the area where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“He has since made a confessional statement to the effect that he actually committed the crime.”
The victim had also been taken to the hospital for medical treatment and report.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for proper investigation and prosecution.
